bio
Jake's first student was his younger brother, with whom he spent countless hours reading and running around the backyard. In the years that followed, he earned his BA in Literature from Stanford University, then served on the faculty at some of the top secondary schools in the world: Phillips Academy Andover, Groton School, and WLSA Shanghai Academy. He has now been teaching or tutoring students for almost a decade.

Annie's grandparents were both Chinese literature teachers, and they passed on a deep appreciation for the importance of learning. Annie earned her Master's in Educational Studies from the University of Warwick and is currently the Director of Academic Affairs at WLSA Shanghai Academy.

Natalie's love for the music of language began with her love for music itself, which she studied from an early age. She then earned her BA in English from Harvard University, before going on to tutor with top-tier college consulting firms, like Command Education. Outside of tutoring, Natalie is also a published author, and her first book, Uncommon Measure, was long-listed for the 2022 National Book Award.
